Puget Sound Energy Window Rebates

Window rebates of $6.00 per sq. ft. up to $500 per fully insulated home when upgrading your windows to energy-efficient replacement windows with a U-factor of .30 or better.

Qualifications:

    * Must be a residential PSE customer who uses electricity or natural gas from PSE for the main heating source and installs qualifying windows in a structure with four units or less.

    * Home must be fully insulated with at least R-38 insulation in attic, R-11 insulation in walls and R-19 insulation in floors.

    * Upgrade from existing single-pane windows or double-pane aluminum framed windows to energy-efficient windows (.30 U-factor or lower).

    * Have a licensed, bonded and insured contractor install windows to manufacturer specifications. Mail or fax this rebate form within 90 days of the installation date.

    * Windows must have NFRC (National Fenestration Rating Council) certified U-factor ratings.

    * Provide proof of purchase (in the form of a paid invoice showing total square footage of window replacement from our installing window contractor) and your signature verifying that your pre-existing windows were single-pane or doublepane aluminum framed windows.

    * Rebate does not apply to new construction, additions that expand the home’s square or cubic footage or do-it-yourself installations.

    * One rebate for window upgrades per site address. All rebates processed automatically agree to periodic inspection.Upgrade from existing single-pane or double-pane aluminum or wood windows to energy-efficient windows (.30 U-factor or better)

Puget Sound Energy Insulation Rebates

Prior to 1980, Washington state building codes did not require new homes to install adequate levels of insulation compared to today's standards. Puget Sound Energy is offering up to $1,600 in insulation rebates for customers who heat their homes with natural gas or electricity provided by PSE as well as free duct wrapping.

Insulation Rebates Available:

  • 50% up to $400 for floor insulation
  • 50% up to $400 for attic insulation
  • 50% up to $400 for wall insulation
  • 50% up to $200 for duct insulation
  • 50% up to $200 to seal leaks in ductwork

Eligibility and Guidelines:

Rebates apply to customers who heat their homes with natural gas or electricity provided by PSE and who have the rebatable projects completed by an independent contractor authorized to do work on PSE's insulation rebate program.

Snohomish County P.U.D.

For customers with electrically heated homes, you have a choice of how to pay for eligible energy-saving home improvements. PUD customers who have electric heat and want to install 1) insulation in their floor, ceiling, or walls, 2) insulated windows, 3) a heat pump, 4) duct sealing & insulation, and/or 5) thermostats. Work must be completed by a PUD-registered installer or by the homeowner to PUD specifications. All work must be authorized by the PUD before any work is started.

Loans

With no administrative fee and no appraisal, the loan term is up to 10 years with no prepayment penalty. The interest rate is a low 2.9 percent. The minimum loan is $1,000, and the minimum monthly payment is $50. Loans are subject to approval of credit.

Cash Incentives

Each incentive payment is a one-time-per-measure offer, and the amount depends on the measure installed (see below). Multi-unit buildings that are three stories or less and contain four or less residential living units are also eligible to apply.

Eligible Measures and PUD Maximum Incentive

  • Attic insulation: 50% of job cost up to $1,200
  • Floor insulation: 50% of job cost up to $1,800
  • Wall insulation: 50% of job cost up to $1,000
  • Duct sealing & insulation: 50% of job cost up to $400
  • Glass metal frame to DP* vinyl windows: $3.00 / sq. ft. up to $1,000
  • Thermostats - licensed electrician installer: 100% of job cost up to $50
  • Thermostats - owner-installed: 100% of job cost up to $25
  • Heat pumps - air source: 50% of job cost up to $450
  • Heat pumps - geothermal: 50% of job cost up to $1,500
*Note: "DP" means double pane.
